Jones & Quinlisk, LLC - 205 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 2500, Chicago, Illinois 60601 - Chicago Law, Tax Law, Estate Planning
Welcome
The members of Jones & Quinlisk, LLC practiced law at the heritage-rich law firm of Wilson & McIlvaine (founded in 1867), and are proud to continue the practice of law in the Wilson & McIlvaine tradition. Honesty, integrity, innovation and dedication to personal service are our core values. The firm has earned the AV (highest available) rating from Martindale Hubbell.
We are proud of every client we represent. If a prospective client's goals and methods are not compatible with our values, the attorney/client relationship will not be formed. The corollary is that our commitment to serve as legal counsel remains steadfast both in good times and bad.
We blend the latest tax and estate planning techniques with time-honored values and a healthy dose of common sense. We have had front line experience in periods of dramatic estate, gift, inheritance and income tax changes, and real estate and stock market booms and busts. We have seen (and counseled clients to avoid) the latest "next-best thing" from tax shelters to off-shore trusts to hedge funds. If a new technique sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
Clients often use us as family advisors, providing some or all of the services of a family office. In that role we are pro-active in developing multi-generational strategies which not only save taxes, but also promote individual development and continuation of a family's heritage. Among family office services available are estate, spousal and retirement planning; personal income tax advice and return preparation; effective gifting options; administration of estates and trusts (including investment oversight and fiduciary accounting and tax return preparation); real estate and business transactions; payment of clients' bills and hiring and firing help.
Should a client's needs be in an area outside of our high competence, we can recommend other counsel experienced in the area needed. Unlike much larger firms with multiple departments which would expect referrals to stay within the firm, our only obligation is to the client and to find counsel most suited to the client's needs.
Traditional hourly fees are available for all services, but in some situations fees based on the project rather than the clock may be available.
